Michal Solowow and Maciek Baran (Ford Fiesta S2000) won the Polish Rally Championship standings at Kosice Rally – the final round of the national championship run in Slovakia. The Cersanit Rally Team duo finished on the second position overall just behind Josef Beres JR (Skoda Fabia S2000).
This victory has been the culminating point in the long and demanding season. Michal and Maciek took part not only in the Polish Rally Championship but also in some events abroad: Arctic Rally (Finland), Valasska Rally (Czech Republic), Ypres Rally (Belgium) oraz Barum Rally (Czech Republic).
- Again it was another nice and interestin season. We are particulary happy with our starts in Belgium, where we finished on the history-making 3rd position overall. Our 6th place in Arctic Rally in Finland is a great succees too. As regards the national championship our goal was to win and gain the title so we cannot be fully satisfied. But we won 5 podiums of all 7 events and there were many rallies we showed a good performance. I thank the whole team for the hard work and our fans for support - Michal Solowow said.
- I'm not glad with 3rd place in the Polish Rally Championship because we wanted to win the series. We did our best at many rallies, sometimes were at the verge of victory but suffered bad luck or misfortune. Great "thanks" to our engineers, mechanics and the whole team. We also thank our fans who supported us in good and bad moments - Maciek Baran added.
In the Polish Rally Championship Michal Solowow and Maciek Baran won 3rd place (183 points).
