The weather has been a biggest surprise at the very beginning of the event . While on Thursday the autumn-like conditions with light rain and temperatures plus 4 degrees Celsius prevailed on the shakedown, on early Friday morning real winter came to Freistadt with intense snowfall, strong winds and freezing temperatures. Leg 1 was a bit unlucky for the Cersanit Rally Team. On SS2 Ford Fiesta fell into the snowdrift and only after 4 minutes the car came back into track thanks to the fans from Poland and Czech Republic. But Michal and Maciek fell down to 72 position overall. But then they won SS5 and the end of the day, after heavy fighting managed to finish on the 16th place. The leader of the rally is Finn Juho Hanninen (Skoda Fabia S2000) who has left behind Raiumund Baumschlager (Skoda Fabia S2000) and Czech Jan Kopecky  (Skoda Fabia S2000).

-  We have not been riding on snow for more than a year. We have not been testing before the rally because there was not winter at all. Here too there were no signs of such a sudden change in weather. Thus, for the first kilometers  we were "testing" the surface and the car. It was quite well until this fateful snowdrift. We thank the Polish and Czech fans for help. It was extremely difficult and exhausting day. The real lottery with the road and tires. But we will fight to the end for points in the European Championship - Michal Solowow reported.

The second day of the Janner Rally consists of eight special stages, divided into 3 loops. Crews will be at the finish in the center of Freistadt at approximately 5.05 p.m.
